The HSN Piney Flats, Tennessee Fulfillment Center works behind the scenes to ensure our customers receive the right product quickly and efficiently. This 24 hour operation offers employees the chance to work in a state-of-the-art automated distribution environment.

Job Description Details

Roles:

  • Associate I

  • Associate II

  • Clerk

  • Material Handler I

  • Material Handler II

Schedules:

Sunday - Wednesday (A)

  • 6:00am - 4:30pm - 1st shift

  • 5:00pm - 3:30am - 2nd shift

Wednesday - Saturday (B)

  • 6:00am - 4:30pm - 1st shift

  • 5:00pm - 3:30am - 2nd shift

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (C)

  • 6:00am - 4:30pm - 1st shift

  • 5:00pm - 3:30am - 2nd shift

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Met temp agency hour requirements to be converted

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 6 month experience in a distribution center or related industry 

  • Proficient ability to understand, respond and react to both verbal and written work directions in English.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisor with equal effectiveness.

  • Ability to promote organizational mission and values.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, which includes multi-tasking, flexibility and adaptability with co-workers and schedules.

  • Basic mathematical skills of addition and subtraction.

  • Basic computer skills are necessary.

  • Ability to understand and follow safety regulations.

  • Ability to use some physical effort in the handling of heavy materials, boxes or equipment (most tasks require up to 70 lbs. lifting and standing for 8-12 hours per shift).

  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift and pull.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet the performance standards of the position.

  • Team player, willing to work in other areas of the operation as needed.

  • Must be available to work overtime as required and flexible hours, including working weekends and holidays as needed.

ASSOCIATE I

The Associate I processes, prepares and moves product accurately and efficiently according to established guidelines. An Associate I ensures department service levels, accuracy and quality processes are being met, while practicing safe work methods. He/she works independently and in a team environment as assigned and moves between job functions as needed. Performance of tasks may require limited use of MHE.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Processes and picks orders to customer specifications.

  • Performs verification of picked product for quantity, condition and then matches with appropriate packing list.

  • Places merchandise on the line.

  • Erects cartons.

  • Places product in correct shipping container with appropriate dunnage.

  • Places inserts and order summary in package.

  • Applies shipping labels.

  • Randomly inspects packages.

  • Re-boxes, gift wraps or otherwise prepares product for shipment to customers.

  • Places product in containers for conveyance (Debox).

  • Sets up pick carts by ensuring that the cart has the proper box size and order summary as prescribed.

  • Labels or reworks product.

  • Performs manual, computer or RF functions to enter data into systems.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by HSN leadership.

ASSOCIATE II

The Associate II processes, prepares and moves product accurately and efficiently according to established guidelines. An Associate II ensures department service levels, accuracy and quality processes are being met, while practicing safe work methods. He/she works independently and in a team environment as assigned and moves between job functions as needed. Performance of tasks may require limited use of MHE.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs job functions of an Associate I as needed.

  • Opens, inspects, and verifies contents on customer return orders.

  • Determines the condition of the item based on item characteristics.

  • Makes decisions relating to the disposition of product to ensure minimal financial impacts to the company, while satisfying our customer and vendor partners.

  • Scans and credits customer returns.

  • Follows standard operating procedures and performs re-box tasks.

  • Performs manual, computer or RF functions to enter data into systems.

  • Refurbishes product by determining whether to repackage the product for resale or direct the product to retail or liquidation.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by HSN leadership.

MHE I / MATERIAL HANDLER I

The MHE I processes, prepares and moves product accurately and efficiently according to established guidelines. An MHE I ensures department service levels, accuracy and quality processes are being met, while practicing safe work methods. He/she works independently and in a team environment as assigned and moves between job functions as needed. Performance of tasks requires the use of MHE.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs job functions of an Associate I or II as needed.

  • Expedites product to the speed lines.

  • Monitors that the speed lines have a consistent supply of product/supplies.

  • Loads and unloads trailers with and without the use of MHE.

  • Sorts, separates, and palletizes freight.

  • Verifies count, containerizes and receives/checks-in merchandise following standard operating procedures.

  • Identifies process issues, such as inventory control issues, check-in errors, etc. and presents them to the Team Lead or Supervisor for problem resolution.

  • Picks non-conveyable product, counts and puts/packs into a shipment box accurately and safely.

  • Picks cases/pallet ensuring accurate count and delivering to the appropriate area as directed. 

  • Performs manual, computer or RF functions to enter data into systems.

  • Operates some Material Handling Equipment.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by HSN leadership.

CLERK

  • The Clerk supports one or more departments by completing operational and administrative tasks related to the functions of the Fulfillment Center. 

  • Performance of tasks requires limited use of MHE. 

  • Tasks will include recordkeeping and data entry using Fulfillment or Distribution hardware and software systems and may require performing duties of Associate I. 

  • The Clerk will be cross-trained in a variety of other Fulfillment functions.
